The 2018 Reading Challenge - #9 - A Book about a Villain or an Antihero

Good Evening everyone :)
Todays book is for the category - A Book about a Villain or an Antihero.
Well what an interesting category it is and how many books to choose from ^^ I love the idea to twist the view on a story and see everything from another side once in a while ;)
The book Ic hose is sitting on my shelve for some time now...and its an old one from my dad and I wanted to read it for quite some time now especially since I really really like the movie ;)

Silence of the Lambs
by Thomas Harris

The Silence of the Lambs is a novel by Thomas Harris. First published in 1988, it is the sequel to Harris' 1981 novel Red Dragon. Both novels feature the cannibalistic serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter, this time pitted against FBI Special Agent Clarice Starling.
Its film adaptation directed by Jonathan Demme was released in 1991 to box office success and critical acclaim.

Again a little summary from goodreads:

*
"At twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. With no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State — and she would do it alone.
Told with suspense and style, sparkling with warmth and humor, Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddened, strengthened, and ultimately healed her."

I´ll give it a 8 out of 10
I´m actually between a 7 and 8...but I think 8 is the one to go for.
I don´t know if it is because I like the movie so much but the book seemed to be a bit blah in comparison...don´t know...totally different to the shining for example where I loved the book more than the film...I´m not sure and don´t get me wrong this book is very good and I enjoyed reading it a lot ;)
Clarice Starling studying at the FBI training academy is called upon the Bureau's behavioural sciences unit, to participate in one of the goriest, strangest cases the Bureau has ever seen. She is sent to talk to Hannibal Lecter, an ex-psychologist, currently residing in a high security mental asylum, and to ask him a few questions...what happens from there on is probably well known ;)
They kind of establish an odd sort of relationship and work together, to track the movements and the thoughts of a fast-moving psychopath, who does horrible things to women.
The detail in this story is incredible. Harris is gifted with the rare ability to inject a haunting sense of nonchalance into the oddest of scenarios.
There are two brilliantly villainous characters in this book. First of cause the murderer who the FBI pursues throughout the novel. And then the rather less obvious one being the genius locked up in the asylum and probably known by everyone, Hannibal Lecter.
Great story and amazing book. If you did not see the movie yet I highly recommend to read the book first ;) Both are amazing but I think it might be the better order ;)

Some more inspiration?
To be honest I just going to make it a bit easier tonight since I really have no time to do more research...so sorry...I´ll try to do it soon!
So here are a few links which might help you a book for this category:

Which book did you choose for this category?
Did you read Wild? Are you a book or a film fan ;)

With lots of love
