The 2018 Reading Challenge - #10 - A Book About Death or Grief
Good Evening booklover :)
A new week a new book review...50 books in one year sounds so easy...its reeeally not ;)
Todays book is for the category - A Book About Death or Grief.
My choice is actually a book left from last years challenge but one I really did not want to rush through so I decided to keep it for this year ^^
Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
by Cheryl Strayed
Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail is a 2012 memoir by the American author Cheryl Strayed, describing her 1,100-mile hike on the Pacific Crest Trail in 1995 as a journey
of self-discovery.
The book reached No. 1 on the New York Times Best Seller list, and was the first selection for Oprah's Book Club 2.0. The film adaptation was released in December 2014.
Again a little summary from goodreads:
*
"At twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. With no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State — and she would do it alone.
Told with suspense and style, sparkling with warmth and humor, Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddened, strengthened, and ultimately healed her."

I´ll give it a 10 out of 10
Oh my I love this book, its sad and happy and melancholic and hilarious and just so wonderful!
The style in which it is written is so lovely and I actually kind of feel like I know Cheryl by now ;) You can...or I don´t now maybe only I could find so many things in it which feels familiar and there are so many thoughts which I had in my head before, so many ideas I had before and so much inspiration ^^ Of cause there are things which totally blow my mind and wonder about me and her and everyone, so many things which make you think about things totally different and so many experiences which I had or am lucky enough to never experience in my life.
It an amazing story about an amazing woman loved it a lot and now I can watch the movie...finally ;) So I don´t know what I think about that so far but let me know what you think ^^
At this point I really want to recommend this book ;) I really enjoyed it and in come chapters it was the hardest thing to stop reading ^^ that´s always a good sign :)
Also I found this amazing Review on the New York Times website and I just had to share it with you ;)
