THE LOVELY LUMINOUS FINISH : HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING PALETTE

If there is one thing I love at the moment, which I actually never expected to say in the past, its a a lovely dewy luminous finish to my makeup. I used to majorly prefer a matte finish to my skin and hated every spot of shinyness - so that´s a 180° turn isn´t it.
I blame it all to Zoe Sugg who talked about this product and home much she loved what it did to her makeup ^^ It looked so dang pretty I instantly wanted the palette and hoped a lot for it to be in sale soon ;)

My favourite way to use this everyday is just as a setting powder ontop of foundation and concealer and it just gives you such a beautiful glowy finish its unreal ;)
But when layered more heavily it also works perfectly as a highlighter palette even tho it defintely stays a more subtle highlight ^^

The Ambient Lighting Palette by Hourglass contains three shades of the brand’s Ambient Lighting Powders, Dim Light, Radiant Light and Incandescent Light.
At first I thought about getting some shades individually but to be honest this palette is the perfect option if you aren´t too sure which shade to go for.
At a 49€ price point for every individual shades you get a lovely value with the palette for 69€ even tho the individual shades are bigger, but honestly the sizes in the palette are more than big enough ;)

So let´s see...the individual shades are from left to right:

The first one is Dim Light and it´s described as a “neutral peach beige powder.”
The shade is a quite pale, light beige with neutral undertones but more on the warm side and almost peachy and it has a very subtle satiny sheen to it which is gorgeous.
The shade is pretty much the perfect shade for my skin tone, blends in perfectly ^^ and it blends out perfectly and only leaves the beautiful shimmer without making my skin look any darker or lighter.
I mostly use this to apply all over my face as a setting powder, together with the next shade
The hourglass website says the following about the shade: "A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with the perfect balance of warm and cool tones."

The middle shade is Incandescent Light which is described as a “pearlescent powder.”
It’s paler that Dim Light and I would say it´s lighter pearly beige with neutral undertones and a silvery ivory shimmer.
The shimmer or glitter particles are a bit stronger in this shade and therefore the best shade of the three to use as a highlighter as you can nicley build this up into a stronger shade.
I love to combine this with Dim light as an all over the face setting powder but be careful as this is a lot more glittery. I never had a bad experience tho since this luckily does not emphasize pores or makes you look overly shiny, which I still prefer ;)
The hourglass website says the following about the shade: "An opalescent pearl powder that brightens the complexion with a celestial glow."

The last shade is called Radiant Light and is described as a “golden beige powder.”
A gorgeous shade which, for some reason, I use least of all. It´s a lovely subtle, medium peach-bronzy shade with gorgeous golden shimmer to it which makes it the warmest shade of all three.
Like Incandescent Light this is a lot more buildable to be very visible, BUT that might be mainly due to my skin tones, since its visibly darker.
According to Hourglass Radiant Light is to add subtle warmth which is does but if you have a paler complexions it, like I said, will definitely be more visible on the skin than if you have deeper complexion. I also love this to add to my Bronzer or as a lovely quick and very subtle eyeshadow ^^
The hourglass website says the following about the shade: "A sun-kissed golden beige that enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth, and also extends a summer glow."

My favourite thing about the Ambient Lighting Powders is the incredible finish it gives your skin. Especially when you tend to use more mattifying products this gives you all the glow without being shiny or looking oily.
I don´t know about oily skin types but if you have a dryer or a normal skin tone this is perfectly usable instead of any other setting powder, which is what I do ;)
Here is what the website says about the product:

"Create your perfect light with this palette featuring three shades of Ambient™ Lighting Powder, which utilize Photoluminescent Technology to filter out harsh light and refine the appearance of the complexion. Each of these high-tech, soft-focus finishing powders recreate an exquisitely flattering light source. The powders can be applied individually or layered to imbue skin with a multidimensional glow."

I love the glow just how the description says it and I love how smooth it makes my skin look and how it kind of minimizes any imperfections - it´s that super healthy natural goddess glow.
The product itself might be a bit powdery overall due to how soft the powders are but I only mentions this to really have said everything ;)

The packaging is just as gorgeous and feels a lot like a high-quality product. It´s sturdy and quite unique and I love the details including the mirror inside ;)

I love it a lot and even with that quite high prize point which I know myself doesn´t make this just a quick buy I would buy it again and can by my experience highly recommend it - keep your eyes open for sales ;)

Have you tried this palette yet? What do you think?
Which other Hourglass products can you recommend? Are there any you could not live without?

I hope you liked this little review and that I´ll see you in the next one"
Let me know what you would like to read about!
