2017 Reading Challenge - A Book With one of the four Seasons in the Title

Good Evening bookworms :)

A new week a new book - this week just a shortie ^^
Todays book is for the category - A Book With one of the four Seasons in the Title.
There are quite a few books you can choose for this category even if it took some time until one came to mind ;)
I chose Spring's Awakening majorly because I have it at home for quite a while and I wanted to read it for a pretty long time...So here is

Spring's Awakening
by Frank Wedekind

And as aways I helped myself to a little summary from goodreads:

*
"Spring's Awakening is a tragi-comedy of teenage sex. Its fourteen-year-old heroine, Wendla, is killed by abortion pills. The young Moritz, terrorized by the world around him, and especially by his teachers, shoots himself. The ending seems likely to be the suicide of Moritz's friend, Melchior, but in a confrontation with a mysterious stranger (the famous Masked Man) he finally manages to shed his illusions and face the consequences."
*

I´ll give it a 7 out of 10
Of cause I read it in the original -german- so I cant tell you anything about how good or bad the translations are - if you read it in english ^^ let us know
I´d say it definitely isn´t a book for everyones taste. Beginning with the fact that it is a play and I personally know that there are many people who dislike a book only for that.
In general this book was a good read...I did not have to force myself to read on and it never got boring. There are many interesting characters and some unexpected things are happening.
Many thing every teenager can rely to but of cause you should always remember the time this was written ;)
So all in all a nice story...but all in all nice...not amazing or outstanding.
A classic you can easily read in between and pretty much in one sitting ;)
So let me know what you think? Are you going to read it

Now...for a little more inspiration here are some of the many alternatives:

The Summer We Read Gatsby by Danielle Ganek
The Winter's Tale by William Shakespeare
Suddenly Last Summer by Tennessee Williams
Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell
The Summer Book by Tove Jansson
The Winter of Our Discontent by John Steinbeck

Still in need of some suggestions?
There are so many many others like:

The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by David Mitchell
The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon
When Autumn Leaves by Amy S. Foster
The Summer of the Swans by Betsy Byars
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare
Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver
Silent Spring by Rachel Carson

Which one is your choice?
Did you read Spring's Awakening and what did you think?
I know many who read it in school ;) Did you?

With lots of love
